CONFERENCE: 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS

Proposed event:

The Government of Colombia, with the support of UNESCO, is organizing a regional conference to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This conference will focus on the contribution of the media and education to the promotion of a culture of human rights in the context of Latin America and the Caribbean. The conference will take place in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, from 8 to 11 September 2008.

Target audience:

Representatives of governmental institutions dealing with media and education; national human rights institutions; professional associations; academic institutions; international organizations and non-governmental organizations.

Time/Place:

The conference will take place in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, from 8 to 11 September 2008, in the Convention and Exposition Center “Julio Cesar Turbay Ayala” Cartagena de Indias. Practical information is available on www.cancilleria.gov.co.
